چکیده
This work develops an energy-efficient robust control for arctic position mooring systems subject to discontinuous ice loads and system uncertainties. To provide a safe reference moored offshore structures, improved structural reliability-based setpoint chasing algorithm is proposed. An ice-load disturbance observer constructed handle the environmental disturbances, relax continuity, differentiability, boundedness requirements of disturbances. The uncertainties are addressed by adaptive fuzzy estimator. With estimation, dynamic surface law derived introducing novel filter improve convergence rate error, it enhances also performance with fast response. Theoretical analysis proves stability resulting closed-loop all its signals invariant set mechanism Lyapunov theory. Comparative numerical simulations carried out on turret-moored floating production storage offloading (FPSO) vessel demonstrate effectiveness proposed scheme.

Offshore anchor piles under mooring forces: numerical modeling
A parametric study was carried out to study the behavior of offshore anchor piles under mooring forces in dense sand using a three dimensional (3-D) finite element model (FEM). The Mohr–Coulomb plastic model has been used to model the soil, and has been calibrated based on the centrifuge tests discussed in a Ph.D. thesis (published by Ramadan in 2011). The selection of model parameters and comp...
متن کاملTOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION OF STRUCTURES UNDER TRANSIENT LOADS
In this article, an efficient methodology is presented to optimize the topology of structural systems under transient loads. Equivalent static loads concept is used to deal with transient loads and to solve an alternate quasi-static optimization problem. The maximum strain energy of the structure under the transient load during the loading interval is used as objective function. The objective f...
متن کاملOffshore anchor piles under mooring forces: centrifuge modeling
Offshore anchor piles are seafloor moorings that keep the position of floating structures during a harsh environment. These piles are usually subjected to a wide range of monotonic and cyclic lateral-to-oblique pullout forces. Centrifuge tests were carried out to study the behavior of offshore anchor piles under mooring forces in saturated dense sand. The tests were carried out at different loa...
متن کاملMooring Line Reliability Analysis of Single Point Mooring (SPM) System under Extreme Wave and Current Conditions
Single Point Mooring (SPM) is a type of offshore facility that is used for the loading and unloading of oil and gas tankers in the sea. In Iran, it is briefly called “floating buoy”. The present study discussed floating type, fixed to the seabed with mooring chain. The mooring chain of SPM, which is considered one of the important parameters of its design, will be evaluated with reg...
متن کاملReliability of Decentralized Energy Market-based Structural Control
Widespread adoption of structural control systems has been limited by the perception that systems might prove to be unreliable over their operational life spans. To address this concern, a novel decentralized control implementation that is responsive to actuation failures is proposed. Termed energy market-based control (EMBC), a control system is modeled as a free market economy where actuators...
